Symantec has a similar set up to Zone Alarm and other firewalls) with an inbuilt "always on" protection (search for TrueVector) which prevent AlienBBC connecting. It doesn't matter if you authorise it in the software set up. I can only get AlienBBC to connect on my laptop (with ZoneAlarm and socketwrapper given full access) if I patch socketwrapper, whereas my mediaserver (with Panda Firewall no specific access for socketwrapper) works fine. Go figure. Glad you got it working.
