Am I missing something obvious, or is there no way to sync the Trackstat info from the squeezebox back to Mac iTunes?
If that interpretation is correct, does anyone else have this issue and have an interest in getting a Mac version of TrackStatiTunesUpdate going that would enable this on Macintosh? I should note I may have a peculiar issue since I'm running squeezebox on a windows server and doing everything else from itunes mac. I have taken a quick look at the perl code in TSITWin, and don't think this should be too hard to implement in Applescript (perhaps calling perl when needed), although my skills in both are sorely lacking. As I see it, there are only three major steps to this working in theory: -code to parse the Trackstat history files. Pretty straightforward. -searching within the iTunes library using iTunes (mac) calls in Applescript (hopefully some reasonable sync logic). -Once a match is made, passing the message to iTunes to change the rating and last played info; from my quick research, this looks dead simple. Some dialog boxes, etc., to select the right history files and locations round out what is needed. Alternatively, it seems that the iTunes history file (xml) could be modified directly, and if the binary file is removed, itunes will use the xml file. That seems a wee bit more dangerous, however, and presumably is the reason this wasn't used on the windows side. Anyone interested or have insights into this? -- gsalton ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gsalton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7598 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30314 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
