I am not sure whether the plugin is working as intended but I have noticed that artists other than the album artist are using the image from artist.* as well. It seems to me that any contributors other than the album artist should not use artist.* this way it will allow an appropriate online image to be used instead. I realise that I can put images into an artists directory to trump the artist.* but it will take me a while to find appropriate ones.
