Version 1.99.0 of the Spotty plugin is on its way out to you. It comes with the biggest changes in the spotty helper application since the first release. The Spotify Connect implementation now is just a tad bit less ugly than before :-). It no longer depends on those external tools like pv, wget, or curl. I also believe that the messy start behavior (skipping tracks at the beginning etc.) has been highly improved.
And there's volume control, too. Change volume in the Spotify application or on the Squeezebox side of things. Unfortunately Windows is still problematic. I did enable Connect on Windows, though I know it crashes all the time. But it'll hopefully allow me to figure out why it does so. Because if I run the helper application manually (not from LMS), then Connect seems to be working. Maybe we can work on this together and find an alternative way to run that daemon? Enjoy!
