I am using Linux Ubuntu 6.10 with all updates applied. After rebooting the machine slimserver seems to be working fine. I have not reinstalled it yet. I have even moved the Squeezebox 3 from one physical location on the network to another, and it started up fine at the new place, and it is now playing music.
I think the following shows the primary slimserver directory. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls /usr/share/slimserver alienbbc-linux-v1.06_6.5.tar.gz Graphics lib revision.txt Bin HTML MySQL SQL Firmware IR Plugins strings.txt [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ And I think this shows the contents of the Plugins directory [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ ls /usr/share/slimserver/Plugins/ Alien iTunes Podcast Rhapsody SlimTris.pm Bin Live365 PreventStandby RPC.pm Snow.pm CLI.pm LMA RadioIO RS232 TT DateTime MoodLogic RadioTime RssNews.pm Visualizer.pm DigitalInput MusicMagic RandomPlay SavePlaylist.pm xPL.pm Health Picks Rescan.pm ShoutcastBrowser [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ The issue of userid is a bit weird on Ubuntu. There is no root user when you install the desktop version of Ubuntu. So to install AlienBBC I have to use this command: sudo tar -xvzf alienbbc-linux-v1.06_6.5.tar.gz I don't know what this does to permissions and other attributes as the command executes. I did not have mplayer installed. So I downloaded it from the Ubuntu repository. At this point I stopped and started slimserver. That seemed to work as expected. Unfortunately, when I access slimserver through Firefox I don't see any indication that an Alien BBC plugin is available. I don't know what I should see, so this is still a bit of a detective game for me. -- Randal Leavitt ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Randal Leavitt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8821 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30508 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
