I run LMS on a server running WHS2011. I just made sure I had 2.1.6, unchecked the box -Don't announce...- and enable connect for my Touch.
Opened Spotify on my MBP, connected my Touch and it started to play immediately. :) The only thing I don't get to work is shuffle. When I press the button it turns green, but at the end of a song it goes to the next in the playlist and the button turns grey again. I tried it on my Iphone 7 as well, but it's the same.
