The first message indicates a missing library or it could mean the
library is named the same in your version of OSX.
The second message:

is usually associated with a version which has been compiled for a
processor not compatible with your systems.
What processor is in your powerbook G3, G4 ?
Where did you get the version of mplayer you installed ?
