Hello all, You can all tut and roll your eyes as I have good tidings, early days but all looks sorted - as I hinted at earlier - user error / education issue.
In a nutshell - the online synch help page suggests that the sound options should be set to the primary sound driver. I took that to mean the control panel->sounds & audio devices icon. However, it is now clear to me that what was meant was the setting within softsqueeze. I couldn't see a way of setting the options however (*hangs head in shame*) it appears that ctrl-P does the trick... Anyhows, the good news is that it seems to now be working nicely (time will tell), my optimism paid off.
