bpa, All sorted now. Deleted the incorrect Alienbbc ver and replaced with the correct one - it always helps ;-)
Also had to chmod +wrx the Alien plugin directory and mplayer.sh. However, I am listening to Radio4 as I type. Even better news my SB3 is currently in Philly on route. Hopefully I will get away with the dreaded VAT and Royal Mails finest charges for the privilege.
