The "10054" error message usually indicates a problem with security s/w.
What version of Norton ? In many cases disabling the s/w/ is not enough
- it has to be uninstalled as the s/w interferes with networking.

Have you told Norton that slimserver, mplayer and socketwrapper are all
"trusted" apps ?

Have you tried the alternative socketwrapper as per AlienBBC FAQ ?

Stop Slimserver. Save the original socketwrapper and then unzip and
replace socketwrapper.exe. Restart slimserver.
