When I first got into computer audio I dismissed upsampling algorithms,
assuming them to be sonically detrimental. However, I've now fallen in
love with two somewhat opposing forces: the first is the Slim Devices
products (specifically the TP, although it's missing a little warmth vs
my Modwright Denon 3910...see comments in audiophile forum) that
obviously uses the network as a vehicle. The other is Foobar and
specifically the great SSRC upsampling algorithm for 24/96. However, I
don't want to run Foobar in my music room, I want the SB or TP (assume
for a second that the "SB4" will handle 24/96), maybe modded to include
an I2S interface, yadda yadda. If Slimserver simply had an SSRC plug-in
all would be fine with the world. However, I don't even have a clue as
to what SSRC does and whether the bits it twiddles are even accessible
via Slimserver. Anyway, just a question...
Thx
Ted
