Still looking for a reason for "redirection" error - given that my test of 7.7.5 on perl 5.22 worked. https uses security SSL/TLS. If you remember a few years ago there was a big fuss about a serious bug in a library. I'm wonder whether BBC is no longer supporting some of the ealier version of SSL and it is possible your version of Perl / libraries is too old.
