I receive posts via the mailing list, so new stuff appears at the bottom. Also, I can see when there's a new version because there's a new post with a new version id in it. If I see an old thread with new messages, I wouldn't know if that's because there's a new comment, or a new version (and changing the title of the thread to represent the latest version isn't a good idea, as those updates aren't sent to the mailing list).
