You are correct in that the 'test' buttons and pressing a button on the remote are sending the same codes. However there is a small difference: The 'test' button sends the code once whereas pressing a remote button might cause IR blaster to repeat the code, since the remote starts repeating itself, espeacially for volume up and down. So my question is if you are using the remote does the volume change at all? Meaning does it at least change one step? Could you post the learned codes?
