It hasn't been discussed in this thread, but remote access in general has been discussed many times on these forums. The general recommendation is don't do it, but if you do then use VPN. Is that what you're doing with iPeng? Squeezelite-X would work the same way; you'd just enter the IP address in Settings. But a VPN tunnel directly to your home router is recommended, not just basic VPN, and not opening a port on your router which is dangerous. Problem is, VPN tunneling from your PC would interfere with your work by preventing communication with the local network. And getting around that would reduce security. Now, maybe someone else here has a solution to that, but it seems to me your best alternative would be to back up LMS and some or all of your library to a small server, and bring that one to work. If they'll let you attach it to the network. I wouldn't.
