This thread is pretty useful and answers a few of my questions but I
wanted to understand exactly what the best method of setting up the MM
server is:

I've enabled the Windows service and it's running and the API works

I use the MM client to manipulate my music (add files, change and
delete files). After I've done this I save the cache and then go to the
server webpage and to a refresh and then click the 'reload/refresh?
cache' button. After I do this SS kicks in (I've set that to 300
seconds) and does a rescan. Is this the way other people do it?

But sometimes the reported artists/tracks is way off. When this happens
I tell SS to clear the library and do a full rescan.
Even if I just add 1 file and I'm sure it's finished analysing, the SS
count can be well below what it actually is.

Where is the SS cache file (Windows)?, I'll try delete this and see if
it helps.

Is there a way to add files without using the MM client? I'd prefer
just to dump the new files into my music directory and let a background
job process them.

thanks
