I figured out how I can install the Denon AVP Plugin with mostly the graphical interface of Ubuntu 18.04: Before installing the LMS onto a blank system I created the user "squeezeboxserver" in the Ubuntu Settings-Details-Users section and assigned a password. I then switched to the just generated user and installed the logitech media server according to this guide: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Debian_Package Thereafter I pulled the plugin from the google archive: https://storage.googleapis.com/google-code-archive-downloads/v2/code.google.com/denonavpcontrol/DenonAvpControl_1_9_2.zip I was now able to unzip, extract the whole folder to the path "/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/Plugins". After a restart of the LMS "sudo service logitechmediaserver stop", "sudo service logitechmediaserver start" the plugin showed up as active in the LMS web interface settings "Plugins" tab. I could now safely return to my default Ubuntu user. LMS and the plugin will automatically start up after a re-boot, logging in to the "squeezeboxserver" account is not necessary. I hope this will help other noobs that run into the same problem. I will re-post my finding in the "Manually installing plugin zips" thread. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ squeezehouse's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67065 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60114 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
