OK, it's quite old and more importantly all the libraries are not linked
to it.

Earlier Ralphy suggested a Pulseaudio version of squeezelite from a
repository, it ran but was missing a pulseaudio libraruy - from same
respository can you try the "normal" version which is ALSA specific but
also has all the decode libraries built in ("LINKALL" in build
description)

I think it is
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsclients/files/squeezelite/linux/squeezelite-1.9.0.1119-x86_64.tar.gz/download
- this build is for an x86 64 bit kernel - if unsure try the command
"uname -a" and see if "x86_64" is in the display.

The ALSA build of squeezelite has some the options amixer can do

Code:
--------------------

-L List volume controls for output device
-U <control> Unmute ALSA control and set to full volume (not
supported with -V)
-V <control> Use ALSA control for volume adjustment, otherwise use
software volume adjustment

--------------------
