Moose seems good to reproduce this, not because of Moose but because Moose uses CLI ;) The only new message in my slimserver.log was "Out of memory!" (no date etc., but timestamp matches the crash). Process is still running, but not responsive. Mem on the Kurobox is short, I know, but the 500 MB that Slimserver was taking (is there a mem leak in the CLI part??) seem quite a lot... and after killing the slimserver.pl process, there were still 10 mysqld processes running, taking up another 7% of total system memory.
Ok, Slimserver may need more memory than Firefly (0,3%), but 500 MB?
