could you try running slimserver with that parameter set:

MALLOC_CHECK_=1 slimserver.pl -d_cli -d_commands -....

and run the tests again?

There haven't been changes to that code recently. But it's always a good  
idea to be up to date ;-). But I guess it's rather somewhere in perl. What  
version are you running? Are there any updates available?
