In SlimServer->Server Settings->File Types->File Format Conversion Setup, do you have the box checked for "Windows Media - Windows Media (built in)" ?
XM Radio Online is a Windows Media (.wma) stream. You can play it using the built-in wma decoder on the SB, which will be done if you have the above box checked. If you don't have the above box checked, then you will need mplayer to decode the wma stream on the host.
