After having followed your discussion and MAI was updated, I just tried doing a complete re-scan for first time in very long time. The result was good. Almost as many "hits" in artists as before, but it is missing some that was found before the changes. For the following artist artwork ain't found, but I'm pretty sure there used to be. They all have names including special characters like æøå'/&+ :
