I'm not sure what would need to be done, but could you maybe support the VolumeLock plugin so that one can't accidentally change the volume by clicking on the slider? The volume will be reset by the plugin, but it can mess up things when the events are used to control an amplifier. (The volume buttons should remain active, though.)
