I'd imagine two per-player settings: 1) whether to fade (and if so, how quickly) 2) whether to restore the volume when the player is powered back on The default for each player would be no fade (same volume throughout, just like the out-of-box behavior). For 1, I imagine three sorts of choices: A) do not fade (volume remains the same throughout) B) "linear" fade (halfway done == volume reduced to 1/2 the starting level) C) some "exponential" fades: at least two options, one that starts with a steep reduction (getting to 1/2 volume might only take 1/4 of the time), and one that starts with a gentle reduction (getting to 1/2 the volume might take 3/4 of the time) This sounds like it could be especially nice for nurseries... which means the settings should probably be accessible from the Squeezebox menus and the web interface. How does that sound for a rough outline? -Peter -- peterw ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32664 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
