Perhaps this was fixed in a version of LMS more recent than a nightly snapshot of 7.9.0 from a couple year ago. Although there is Windows, Mac, and Linux setup code in LMS, there' is nothing mentioning FreeBSD in the startup of LMS, not to mention whether or not there would be such code in your PlugIn...
