Hi Paul, Cebolla, thanks very much both - I guess it was indeed my misunderstanding that UPnPBridge needed an active Squeezelite to piggyback on to couple with the network player. I just tested stopping the Squeezelite process while music was playing, and the music kept playing. ;) @Paul, what I initially meant with Squeezelite "pairing" with the BCM2835, please see the screenshot below. So I guess my own initial question is answered - UPnPBridge reaches out directly to the network player, and not via Squeezelite, hence the non-existent dedicated audio card or any ospecial Squeezelite paramaters make no difference.
