The volume slider is working better now, and the buttons on either end are work again as well.
The issue with adjusting the volume using the swiping control: this is very nice, but it seems to lag well behind what the volume has been changed to currently. If this were to work well however, it would be my preferred method of adjusting volume, and I probably would no longer open the slider control to do it.
