When I run the test quite a lot of text whizzes past then it says Starting playback... A: 247.9 (04.43.8) of 0.0 (unknown) 1.3% 43% The 247.9 number keeps counting upwards, as does the number after it in brackets. The bracketed number I think is counting real time. Each time I let it run for over 10 minutes. I can't hear anything, where should the sound come from? I'm sat by the computer so it can't be there. I keep popping upstairs to where my SB3 lives but no radio4 from that?. I know how to move mplayer to local/bin where lame is. I don't know how to check permissions or the other thing you mentioned.
