This is a Windows 10 issue. MAI works absolutely fine on *nix variants.
I finally figured it out... the change to have async TLS handshaking
seems to break this on Windows:

I don't know what part of this is causing the crash. But I'll disable
this for the time being until somebody has figured it out...
