Hi Paul

piCorePlayer6.0.0-rc1 is up and running very nicely.I have installed it
several times to try and work out a install procedure.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks

Greg

Here is what I have worked through (I think I have it correct)

setting up piCorePlayer (pCP) 6.0.0-rc1 on a Raspberrypi Zero W with a
AIY version 2 voicebonnet

download the piCorePlayer6.0.0-rc1 image from the piCorePlayer web site

burn the image with your prefered SD card programmer

mount the SD card and edit the wpa_supplicant.conf.sample for your wifi
wireless router/access point

change the file name to wpa_supplicant.conf

connect to HDMI monitor and keyboard to set up alsamixer

insert SD card into pCP and boot

connect to the pCP web page and goto the Main Page

click the Resize FS button (if desired)
click the partition size dropdown and select the desired size
click the Resize button

goto the pCP Squeezelite Settings web page

Set the output card to USB Audio

click the card Save button

click the card control button

click the save squeezlite settings for reboot button

go to the pCP main page and click the Reboot button

after reboot

goto the Squeezelite Settings page

set the Output setting to device hw:CARD=aiyvoicebonnet,DEV=0

click the card control button

click the save squeezlite settings for reboot button

go to the pCP main page and click the Reboot button

after reboot

go to the pCP cli and enter alsamixer

It will probably display the PCM setting information

enter F6 to change the Output setting to hw:CARD=aiyvoicebonnet,DEV=0

set volumes and enable options using cursor and m keys

I set set headphone and speaker gain values to 72
and enable headphone, speaker, I2S2, DAC1 MIX, all HPO***'s, all
SPK***'s, Stereo DAC MIX L, Stereo DAC MIX R. all other options
disabled. all options have not thoroughly been figured out.

go back to the pCP Squeezelite Settings web page

click the card control button

click the save squeezlite settings for reboot button

set the player name you want and save

go to your LMS server and select your new pCP

you should be able to play music at this time

go to the pCP main page and click the reboot button

pCP should reboot and start playing music (providing you left LMS
playing)

Now you should be able to add extras to pCP (LMS server, etc.)

Enjoy!
