For my office system, I play flac files through my laptop. I started using Slimserver, Softsqueeze and Moose for its excellent Toast popup. This approach was extremely taxing on system resources. I discovered a very small player to handle flac files, MusikCube (~3,500k), and a popup for song info, CD Art Display (~7,800K), which is highly configurable, skinnable, and also features song ratings. It is free and can be seen at: http://www.closetosoftware.com/?s=cdartdisplay. Unfortunately, it is not currently compatible with Softsqueeze, but the developer seems very cooperative. If you are looking for a song info popup, which also includes album art, I urge you to visit the site and request Slimserver support. If you use Winamp, Foobar, Media Monkey, iTunes or some other players, you can use the tool already.
