A user has raised an issue on Material's github page re. virtual
libraries. The user thinks this should 'reset' when navigating back out
of 'My Music' What currently happens is:
- Navigate into 'My Music'
- Select a library using the button in the sub-toolbar
- If you then navigate into 'Albums' under 'My Music' the list will
be filtered using the chosen library
- Navigate to Material's 'home' screen
- Navigate into a pinned library item (e.g. you might have pinned
'Albums' to the home screen)
- Now the list of items is also filtered using the previously
selected library
This is all because Material uses the library option in 'My Music' as a
way of setting the library globally. But, (I guess) the real issue is
that when you navigate 'Albums' pinned on the home screen there is no
indication of what library is being used.
As a solution to this, I propose the following:
- Only use library chosen in 'My Music' to filter items when browsing
under 'My Music' e.g. 'Home / My Music / Artists' would use the
library, 'Home / Artists' would not
- When pinning an item to the home screen, if a library is currently
set then save this and amend the pinned name. e.g. Library='Test' then
pin 'Artists' as 'Artists - Test'
This will allow pinning multiple 'Artists' entries to the homescreen,
each with its own library. Does this make sense?
p.s. I know LMS traditionally sets the library per-player, but this has
never sat well with me with reagards to a multi-player control point
(i.e. Material).
