Ok, never mind, sorry...on a hunch I disabled my Kaspersky Security Cloud anti-virus and, sure enough, it was interfering with Squeezelite-X somehow, but without any sort of notification. I added SqueezeliteX.exe as an exclusion and it runs fine again. Why Kaspersky suddenly started being a problem when Squeezelite-X previously ran fine with it is a mystery. Kaspersky also incorrectly detects/reports that Squeezelite-X version 2.6.13.0 contains a virus.
