I've no idea where I should post this issue. It involves different behavior of LMS running on different computers in attempting to play WMA files on different players--with the problem arising with one server (but not the other)--but only when using the AirPlay bridge. 1. LMS on a Windows 10 desktop to a Touch (not using the AirPlay bridge) and to an AudoPro C5A speaker (using the AirPlay bridge): WMA files (all lossy) play fine. 2. LMS on a Raspberry Pi 4 with piCorePlayer: WMA files play fine to the Touch but just sit silently when sent to the C5A (using the AirPlay bridge).
MP3 files play fine in all four of these situations. [Aside: LMS on my ancient Netgear NAS plays everything fine to the Touch but won't install either the AirPlay bridge or the UPnP/DLNA bridge (which is why I just got my first Raspberry Pi, in trying to serve to my new C5A).] Does my problem happen because WMA is not supported in the bridge (the common "audio parameters" in the bridge are "aac,ogg,ops,ogf,flc,alc,wav,aif,pcm,mp3")? If so, why does the Windows LMS work with WMA, since it has the same "audio parameters"? I realize that LMS on Windows sometimes has an easier time of playing WMA files, as codecs are included with the system. Or does my problem happen because of something odd in pCP, causing its copy of LMS to behave differently when using the AirPlay bridge (to the C5A) than it does when going directly to the Touch? Or something else? Additional notes concerning my installation RP4/pCP and LMS: A. On the "Main Page" for pCP, I have indeed enabled the "FFMpeg libraries for Squeezelite" B. Using the LMS Web Control for LMS on this device, I tried but failed to enable bpa's plugin for LMS to "Play Windows Media (v1.0)". When I restart LMS and return to the plugin page, I get the error message "Plugin is incompatible with this version of Logitech Media Server. Please update." It would be hard for my pCP's copy of LMS to be much more current than it already is: 8.0.0, dated 2020-05-25. Would I be better off with an older version of LMS? My Windows desktop is running an 8.0.0 version that is about a week newer. P.S.: I just updated to whatever the most recent LMS build is--no better luck playing WMA files. Any suggestions or explanations, bearing in mind that although I've been using LMS for over a decade, I'm an idiot on non-Windows operating systems? Yes, I could re-rip my 11,000+ WMA tracks (I have another 16,000 mp3 tracks), going back 20 years, but life is too short. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bernreddy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70246 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105198 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
