I've only just "dusted off" use of Material, so I don't know that it happens all of the time. The same phenomenon shows up on my iOS device as well as with Safari on my Mac. Both with the Mobile layout and the Desktop layout. Exactly the same is happening with Podcast listings, from any source. Slow BBC reply ? I'm thinking not, because the images show up on my Radio just as they should. And the point does not seem to be limited to BBCiPlayer. My LMS is set to use mysqueezebox.com to resize artwork. There is also a "Custom pre-caching specification" 300x300_f Material Skin, I don't know what that does ! This is all under LMS Settings|Advanced|Performance. I suppose it might have something to with image resizing/caching, but I have no idea what to look for.
