You have misunderstood - I just found the URLs with iHeart Plugin - you do *not* need to have the iHeart plugin installed to play them. Even if iHeart plugin is installed, there is *no* need for an iHeart account to search/play iHeart stations. The two URLs I have posted are *not* https and so IO::Socket::SSL version may not matter. The second URL I posted was a plain HTTP / AAC URL so no need even for PlayHLS plugin. Station have started using HLS as it is more efficient but they often keep an old stream URL but hidden for legacy players.
