The configuration is saved automatically when you shut the system down but before that can happen you have to define the backup partition. That's under the System=>Backup/Restore menu. You can change the date/time with the 'date' command, but that doesn't seem to update the BIOS so it gets lost on reboot. I just went into the BIOS at boot and set it directly.
