Thanks for the suggestions. If I cannot get this working I'll have to go down the BottleRocket route, although I may need a USB version.
Felix how do you interpret the codes? Is there a document I can read to understand the raw_codes format? BTW the Pronto I used to try and teach the Squeezebox works fine when sending the commands to my IR->X10 box from right across the room without a clear line of sight. I downloaded the .CCF for the X10 codes from RemoteCentral.
