Your AlienBBC install looks OK since your gets lots of stations and the
log shows it tries to play the right URL.
Your RTSP settings look OK - only RTSP->WAV should be ticked. This is
because CPU power of smaller system (e.g. DS-106) doesn't have the
power to re-encode WAV stream into MP3 or Flac on the fly. It is also
the reason why there is a an error where it can't find "mplayer.sh" -
that custom-convert.conf file entry was not updated to use
mplayer-stdout since it will never be used on SSODS.
The bit in the log I find strange is
Code:
--------------------
pcm:nowaveheader:file=-
"rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio4/live/r4_dsat_g2.ra"
2>/dev/null
2007-04-18 20:04:04.1672 openSong: remoteURL is a song :
rtsp://rmlive.bbc.co.uk/bbc-rbs/rmlive/ev7/live24/radio4/live/r4_dsat_g2.ra
2007-04-18 20:04:04.1871 undermax = 1, type = wav, squeezebox2 =
00:04:20:06:d3:73
2007-04-18 20:04:04.1927 checking formats for:
wav-wma-squeezebox2-00:04:20:06:d3:73
2007-04-18 20:04:04.1955 checking formats for: wav-wma-*-00:04:20:06:d3:73
--------------------
SS has started to try to play RTSP (i.e. BBC stream) and then it
suddenly starts looking for a WAV translation - I think this can happen
if there is a failure to start the "playing" app.
To run mplayer standalone try this. You first need to "cd" to the
directory which has the mplayer-stdout binary
Code:
--------------------
./mplayer-stdout -cache 64 -ao pcm:file=/dev/null -playlist
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/realplayer/media/fmg2.rpm
--------------------
If it runs and elapsed time increments then mplayer has access to BBC .
