Just discovered this thread and the plugin. What an amazing thing.
I've just tried it and had very similar experiences, however I am also
getting severe buffering fails.
I too would love this to show what's playing on my TV, because a 7 inch
Picore touchscreen display isn't enough :D
Server - v8 from late July. Windows 10.
Main player- Picoreplayer 6
Syncd my chromecast to it with the Picoreplayer in charge
I play something, it works and then buffers badly on the picoreplayer at
1 minute. Local flac or Tidal.
I tried the transcoding trick but no difference.
I haven't fully restarted the server.

In the main log I don't know what to switch on to catch the buffering
issue.
(I see a lot of Failed to fetch
https://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml: Connect timed out:
Bad file descriptor but that's another story)
The other thing I noticed was that I get a spinning thing over the
artwork, the kitten loved it. Let me know if you want a photo.
Ideas welcome, happy to try stuff
