The version that came with AlienBBC was "1.0pre8-3.4.2" 12/06/2006 and the one I installed was "1.0rc1-3.4.2" 30/10/2006.
So pehaps it matches what you say that there were probelms with VIA processors. So maybe it would be a good idea to include the latest version in the AlienBBC installer so to support VIA processors as well.
