The plugin is constantly chasing BBC and so settings which used to be important may now be less important or even redundant. When Triode implemented the current iteration of BBCiPlayer the audio formats were Adobe Flash and Apple HLS. Then BBC migrated from Adobe Flash to DASH with the aspiration that DASH will be the only one required in future. I implemented DASH and retired Flash. The Extra plugin uses the URLs from the web player which now only offer DASH or occasionally MP3 podcast (very rare, maybe never now, sometimes on very old program they may be in Flash) . This is probably so that BBC can bundle a JS DASH & MP3 player as part of the their player & RadioPlayer popout player. There are NO HLS streams from the Extra plugin - so DASH has to be one of the options in BBCiPlayer "on-Demand" settings. If BBC decides to offer HLS I think plugin will be able to handle it. The AAC audio in HLS and DASH is exactly the same. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
