Hi, I've noticed something slightly strange with my setup.
I run LMS8 on a win10 server, I also have Squeezelite-X on the same machine for occasional control/config etc, although essentially the server runs as headless with minimal intervention. I noticed that the performance of the server was slower than normal and, upon investigation, I found that Squeezelite-X was running as a background task and was hogging ~65% of the CPU time, meaning LMS was slow to respond and often timed out on commands. I found that if I run Squeezelite-X on the server, and then close it (by closing the window with the X in the top RH corner), it doesn't properly close but instead runs as a background process hogging resource. New instances of of squeezelite-X fail to run until I use task-manager to end the background process. This only seems to happen when running SLX on the same machine and LMS, ie. if I run SLX on a different PC and connect to my LMS server, SLX can be stopped/started etc with no problem. Has anyone else seen this? The work around is to set SLX to run as a background task in the settings, closing then sends it to the background properly and it consumes next to no resource. This works really well as SLX is instantly available. So, not an important issue as the workaround works fine, but I thought I'd raise it here for visibility in case other users have a similar set-up and may un knowingly have SLX running as a "hogging" background process. Meanwhile, thanks for all the efforts on producing SLX, when combined with Material, it's a very versatile and slick user interface. location 1: lms 8.0 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 touch, x1 controller : location 2: lms 8.0 on win 10 brix server, x2 sb radios, x1 duet receiver, x1 controller : alexa mediaserver smart skill, material android, squeezelitex control ------------------------------------------------------------------------ staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
