Another great reason for it would be output the sound from a TV tuner. Here in the UK we get radio broadcasts over digital terrestrial TV and my TV is run through a media PC. If I could output the sound to a stream for the SB to pick up then I could listen to sports commentaries that they are not allowed to broadcast on internet radio because of licensing restrictions. I could also keep listening to the TV while in the kitchen.
I've looked at doing it via shoutcast but that seems like a sledgehammer to crack a walnut and would mean I'd have to stream the sound it constantly over my network instead of just when one of the SBs requested it. If slimserver could stream it only on request that'd be better.
