The reason I'm excited about getting Stern on Crystal.net (via the SqueezeBox) is because I don't get perfect reception either. I had to make many small adjustments to my antenna to minimize the 3 blackouts I experience daily, about an hour each, at 8 hour intervals. This makes recording the entire, 5 hour Stern show in a single session difficult-impossible, depending on where the 3 Sirius satellites are in their "procession" around Earth. Listening to anything on Sirius on a regular basis is difficult, to the point that I don't even listen to it anymore, except to record the Stern show. (Don't worry, I don't listen to the entire show, I fast forward through large sections of it.) Because of this "procession" phenomenon, these blackouts are a few minutes sooner every day. I actually made a pie chart, with movable sections, to predict when the reception is good so I can schedule recordings. At least my pie-chart contraption doesn't involve ongoing tech issues. Impending DRM issues notwithstanding, I believe internet radio is better than Sirius radio anyway (plus no blackouts to worry about), so the fact that I don't listen to Sirius at all anymore (except to record the Stern show) isn't tragic. Try extending the antenna further out by attaching it to something else.
