Hmm, I must be a little slow today. I'm not sure if the "Yes" refers to
my suggestion or to the way it is shown on the website. If I should
follow the drawing then I have to get an XLR to 1/4" interface cable,
as I use balanced outputs to my preamp. What I offered is based on the
premise that what is really going on is a "comparison" of the test
signal as it is played through the speakers, to one that is fed
directly to the recorder as a "controlled source". If that is behind
the method, then I think it makes more sense to use the other set of
outputs - as long as absolute amplitude is not used in the analysis. My
main D/A out is balanced, the secondary out is RCA, so there is a gain
difference. But if that's not relevant to the measurement, I'd then be
getting the same circuit path (minus the few component differences
between the XLR and RCA out) feeding both inputs to the M-Audio.

OTOH, I may be way off base on this.
