I'd no idea there were additional server side settings for genre. I'll take a look. For band, wouldn't it be up to me to decided what I set to include band? If the line gets too long that's my problem isn't it? The other query I have about this method is that I often have 2 genres - classical, and a sub-genre (eg Symphony). This is a technique used for the Multi Library plugin to have separate menus for Classical and other types of music. All my classical music has Classical, but not all items show with a Composer in the track details. In my case, if there's a Composer, I want to see it (or them). If not, I don't, and the same for Conductor(s) and Band (s). I sometimes have pieces where I don't know the composer, or conductor, or band, so they are not filled in. I'm not sure what the benefit of the lists is. If I have to create a list of genres other than classical for composer it'll take me quite a while (I have many dozens of classical genres), and if I add a new genre (not that rare) I'll have to tweak the lists.
