I'd be somewhat interested. In general I would be happy with basic playback of music and internet radio with the extra addition of some nice browse by artwork method. - Browse by artwork ? Yes that would be really cool. - Other types of browsing ? Album,Artist, and Playlists would suffice for me. - Searching ? Very important. For large music collections this is a must for finding the things you want. - Browsing internet radio ? Playing internet radio also has a high priority for me. - Selecting and playing playlists ? See browsing. - Managing playlists ? Adding to the 'now playing' list would be nice. But anything more advanced than that is best handled by other means I think. - Anything else ? Well, just basic playback control. play,next,previous,stop,volume. However I am following the elisa media center [1] project by fluendo [2] with great interest. It's still in it's early stages, but they seem to be having, among other things, a very nice opengl based framework for the GUI. I believe the exact GUI layout is under heavy refactoring, but there are some nice screencasts at their webcast showing their current status. I have some confidence in this project becoming a really good media center solution within forseeable future: fluendo appears to be a serious company. They among other things offer licenced mpeg4, mpeg2, windows media, and mp3 codecs. My point here is that perhaps it would be worth checking out wether your ideas could be realized using elisa????
