Have you looked at my BottleRocket plugin info? The code isn't so beautiful, but I've extended it from amp power control to more general appliance/lighting control. My HA is very primitive, but I had the same basic thought as you -- why not use the Slim remote and SB display as another HA controller? Why walk to the wall switch when the Slimserver host can issue the commands? A while back I gave some thought to making the hardware control more generic so that it would be able to control more than just X10 modules (the only plug-in lamp module I like uses ZWave), but I never did any work towards that. Heck, I haven't yet officially released a version that runs on Windows. But imagine being able to use macro/scene choices in addition to specific device codes, supporting more than x10/firecracker, and maybe sprucing up the web configuration screens. Is that sort of what you have in mind? Windows -- ick. There does appear to be some *nix source for Insteon controllers (http://www.linuxha.com/athome/common/iplcd/), so it looks like you should be able to achieve cross-platform support. -Peter P.S. I'm only half-way done (if that) porting FuzzyTime to 7.x, but it looks like SuperDateTime 5.5.0 uses the dateformat API just as it should. :-) -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst VolumeLock ------------------------------------------------------------------------ peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35370 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
