this automatic scan, it seems, sometimes fails due to the very weak internet connection i have. After a failed scan my playlists from spotify are mixed up and i have to do a manual delete and rescan of the database to get things in order again.
Go to Settings/Advanced/Online Music Library Integration. There you can enable the automatic scan for every service you're using.
